How we enjoyed the lessons taught by British born teacher, Miss Sangster as she explained Gabriel Okara’s “Piano and Drums” much to our delight! “The Fisherman’s Invocation “and “The Call of the River Nun” were other poems we enjoyed.
Then at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof Mrs Juliet Okonkwo thrilled us with her explanation of the novel, The Voice. I was intrigued by how these teachers and lecturers had such a good understanding of their subjects.
May the soul of Gabriel Okara rest in peace.
